RBNZ Signals Possible End to Interest Rate Hikes

SYDNEY—The Reserve Bank of New Zealand raised its official cash rate by a further 25 basis points at a policy meeting on Wednesday, but indicated it could be done tightening the policy screws as consumers have slowed spending.

Still, the rise in the OCR from 5.25% to 5.50% came with a warning that the policy rate will likely need to remain high for some time yet to get inflation back under control.
