Carter Higgins has created another treat for little children with “Some of These Are Snails.” As with her enchanting 2021 picture book, “Circle Under Berry,” Ms. Higgins uses simple shapes, rhythmic words and bright shapes on a white background to encourage toddlers to practice visual and aural discrimination: having them tell the difference between forms and getting them to sort by size and color and pattern.
