Ukraine says sniper killed Russian soldier almost 1.7 miles away, which it claims is the second-longest kill on record

Ukraine’s army claimed on Wednesday to have made the world’s second-longest sniper kill. 
The army’s strategic command posted footage of the apparent hit. 
The shot would be roughly three times the height of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

Ukraine’s army claimed on Wednesday to have made the world’s second-longest sniper kill shot, at a distance of 1.68 miles, or 2.7 kilometers. 

Ukraine’s strategic command shared footage of the apparent hit on Telegram, saying: “The occupier was eliminated by a precise shot of our commandos from a distance of 2710 m.”

At that distance, it would be like hitting a target in the middle of New York’s Central Park from Times Square. Or shooting roughly the length of just over three Burj Khalifas — the world’s tallest building — laid end-to-end.
