United Nations atomic agency inspectors are poised to make an emergency visit to Ukraine’s Russia-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant early next week, after a breakthrough in negotiations over access, people involved in the talks said.
The team from the International Atomic Energy Agency could bring spare parts, radiation-monitoring devices and other vital materials to the plant, Europe’s largest, amid fears that fighting in the area that has damaged power lines and caused fires at the facility could lead to a nuclear catastrophe.
