Primary Day Conforms With Election Law Deadlines to Respect Observation of Rosh Hashanah and Commemoration of 9/11 Attacks

The New York State Senate today gave final passage to legislation designating the date of September 13th for the 2018 state primary election in New York. The bill (S7597) is sponsored by Senator Simcha Felder, and would change the original primary day from September 11th to respect those observing Rosh Hashanah, while also allowing New Yorkers to remember the many thousands who perished in the September 11, 2001, attacks.
